Why it's shaped like that
The base is wide and the walls lean in, so the flame from a small stove hits more steel and the heat has nowhere to go but up into the water. That's the four minutes.
The spout comes off the body low and long. Water leaves in a thin, steady stream you can aim at a pour-over cone or a cup of noodles without a pool on the ground.
The handle folds flat and is bare steel. It gets hot. We tried silicone; it melted on a wood fire in Scotland and we decided you'd rather have a glove and a kettle that lasts.
